I checked out the waterers on your page and may have to get some of those watering nipples. I have the same problem of the waterers getting full of crud. I only fill them half way and they still require that they are cleaned before they run out of water.
Underneath the pine shavings on the floor is a piece of fiberglass reinforced plastic so that clean up is easy. The end wall folds down and I can pull the whole floor out to hose it down when it gets dirty. McMurrey sent me an additional 14 Red Star Roosters to keep my box full so they would...
The horizontal 1 x 2's on the walls are where the future roosts will be installed. Here are some more picks of the auto door. I took the plywood cover off so you can see the motor assembly. I don't have a timer installed yet, but it's ready to go when I put it outside when the weather is warmer.

I actually considered this for exactly 1 beer, then I changed my mind.
I think it is a requirement to have 2-3 beers to really be convinced it's a good idea!
Thanks for all the compliments! It's nice to hear from everyone that have the same interest in chickens. When I started this coop I didn't know about this forum, then the other day I was browsing the internet and stumbled accross it. I had no idea there were so many chicken obsessed people...

It won't be in direct sunshine most of the day. I'll have to monitor it closely and if it gets too hot they sell the same roofing in white and I can just swap it out with only removing a few screws. Yes it does lift up as well. I didn't take close up photos, but all the windows in...

Nice pic. My goats are wethers. I use them as pack goats when I go backpacking in the mountans. As far as separating the feed, I was thinking I would put a run directly underneath the coop that the acess was fenced off from the goats. I would bacically put a pop hole from underneath...
The size of the whole thing rests on a 4' x 8' platform. The height at the peak of the barn is a little over four feet. The main barn and the shed each take up their own half of the platform so the footprint of each is basically 4' x 4'.
Some final pics for this weekend. The gable end door is going to be covered with mesh on the inside. I can open it to allow for ventilation. All the windows also have mesh, but can also be closed by sliding plexiglass "windows" into a grove from the inside of the coop. This will allow me to...
The shed roof was a little beyond the capabilities of my two sons. It is hinged at the connection under the shake roof so the whole lid can be lifted to access the nests for collecting eggs. The roosts will be in the large "barn" area.
I used translucent fiberglass corregated roofing...
On to the roof! What would a old barn be without a shake roof shingles? Needless to say, I didn't take a count of how many shingles I would actually have to make when I started this project!
First I coated the plywood with clear silicone caulk. I troweled in on to provide a smooth waterproof...
As far as the run, I actually am considering allowing my chickens into the same pen as my 3 goats. I've researched and haven't found any reason that I should be concerned about any health issues. If I was to do this, I would have the back of the coop up against the goat pen fence, cut a hole...
This pic posting is almost as difficult as actually building the chicken coop!
Here are pics of my oldest son installing the siding. Of course since we are building a barn, the siding had to be appropriate. I had some leftover barnwood from another project that I ripped in my table saw to be...
