I did not realize it had been so long since my last visit. I blame the new BYC system. It doesn't notify me of anything even tho I have it marked to. Well our power is out due to a snow storm so perfect time to catch up on reading.... From my phone. I just can't bare to be out with my chickens...

Ohhh Mrs.Chicken Dad. I too had a mishap. I spent New Years Eve in the ER. I dropped a coop on my eye. The things we do for chickens. Tons of stitches later and I am good as new. :) Hope your surgery goes well and you heal quickly!

I also tried a product called "just one bite" or something like that. I read on BYC that it wouldn't harm the chickens or cats if they happened to eat one of the rats. My problem is gone.

Speaking of rodent stories.....here is mine. I had known for a while that I had a rat problem in my chicken area when I went to check for eggs one night and to my surprise found a small rat under the nesting box. AHHHHH! I got my rodent trap out and managed to shoo the bugger into the trap...

Ha! Maybe Roger is trying to give Mr. Chickendad an idea for a gift for Mrs. Chickendad. An update in jewelry for the yackbox? Maybe? hint, hint.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here. While we will be having a very small spread for Thanksgiving, a chicken of all things....not one of mine , I am thankful for my family, friends, and of course, my chickens.
