The chicks are all resting comfortably, and we are glad to have been to sharkie. What a beautiful drive through the Keene Valley... and it was great to see you all too!
EIGHT in one DAY! Bold little bugger, must have kits somewhere near by. The birds are locked up at night.
I will be looking for light breeds or banty pullets. I like to keep up to 10 non marans, 'cuz marans are not consistent egg layers.
All the ones taken this time were either young...
Well.... I'll be looking for some birds this year. **** Fox just took 8! That brings his total to 20 this year, mostly young pullets too inexperienced to run. I can't get that fence up soon enough. If it had not rained so much last weekend we'd have it up already.
Oh well :-(
uhhh.....they are on a white piece of paper... 'cuz the counter was dirty!
Hubby even said they were fun to make... rare when I ask him to do something and he says it was fun.
My darn Marans better pick up on the Laying... slackers! I will bring what eggs I get for the raffle hope it is at least a dozen.
I only got one yesterday, out of 8 marans girls!
'cuz I am thinking we are getting together on the 8th... bad me!
It has been a really tough couple of weeks. My Boss died on the 2nd and it's been rough, he was a good man and a mentor.
Correction......I'm bringing Black Copper Marans 3wks old!
We'll see what he has time for, but I'll let him know. He is just starting a spiral stair job so I have to keep reminding him to do the feathers... I'll get a picture soon.
Can't wait!
What are the rules for bringing birds? I may have some BCM Chicks? Hatching this weekend!
I've got hot hotdog and hamburger buns under control (love the costco membership). Plus I'll bring a few pounds of fresh bacon, got lots from the 1/4 pig I bought from a neighbor! My husband is working on making some hand forged iron feathers to add to the raffle!
