These two boys are becoming my house chickens. The head rooster is starting to pick on them and they like people more than other chickens. They can keep each other company when I am not home and when I am home they love to hang with me and watch me play videogames. I even called Sora (the blue...

Great news, my wry neck chick is 100% recovered with no issues, bad news, she can now fly out of her pen and isn't very friendly so I think she might end up living outside. Other good news however is that my friend has 3 silkies she wants to re-home, 2 hens and 1 roo. I am thinking of taking...

I love having my silkies, I am trying to get some cochin bantams as well but I am getting a standard blue pullet end of April so at least i'll have that. The cochin bantams just seem so lovely. Dream goal is a frizzle cochin.

I always take mine on car rides to the gas station or sometimes to a drive through to get lunch in the middle of the day. I took them to the local feed mill to pick up shavings too. They like being in the car if the window is cracked a little. They sit in a small dog crate in my back seat.

I would love to take my silkies on vacation with me. Go to a fun camping trip with them like people who always bring their little dogs. I am already one chicken clothing closet away from making my silkies look like little dogs anyways. No, my dogs always bawk, don't question my pomeranipoo's....>.>

Call me crazy or call me crazy, I got a little shoulder sling bag my silkies fit into so I can carry them around the farm when I do chores. I an thinking about getting a chicken harness and sewing a clip into the bag so I can take them places with me. Do you think pet stores will let you take a...

I have a mirror in there for them as well so they assume there are 4 chicks in there all together. Even with all that they are still super demanding. My little wry neck chick is a LOT of work to get her better and Elsa her buddy is very very VERY needy and has to be cuddled and snuggled for...

I recently took in 2 more house chickens. A little baby had wry neck so I took her home with me and one other chick to aid her in her recovery. So far she's been doing much better but boy are those two super clingy to me now. I think they associate me with mommy chicken and if I leave their...

I got 'mess free' type stuff since my kiddo's are still living indoors right now. For their current pen I got a rabbit playpen with the bottom liner, you have to buy them separate but it was worth it. I also put a tarp down and pulled it up around the sides and put in wood shavings. It was safe...

Mom said we were too dusty so we got a bath and did the wet sit of shame in our towels while she plugged in our blowdryer. And I agree with Sylvester, silkies are just great chickens if you want one as a pet. Even my roosters are friendly and quiet. My dominant roo is a little louder than the...

Thank you, I am utterly nutty about my silklings as I call them, I am getting 4 more soon I hope. I want a blue, a black, a partridge and either a blue partridge or another splash or paint. I would also like a lavender but the breeder I prefer doesn't breed lavender.

Awww, poor babies. I have a whole emergency medical kit put together for mine just to be safe. Wound spray, treatment for mites and lice, nutri drench, and medication for respiratory infections. I also have a roll of vet wrap and pads too and blue kote. I'm ready for anything that comes my way...

Technically not supposed to be house chickens as I am making their coop for them and they are almost 10 weeks old now but I am so overly protective of them I am almost afraid to put them outside into the scary big world full of pests and predators. I am super duper predator proofing the coop and...
