I will say this once more for the OP. Please move your chicken into a warm, safe place where he is not situated on concrete. No antibiotics or remedies needed. Let the toes fall off, the chicken will be able to act normally and walk fine without them. Then keep him in a dog crate with blankets...

OP, how is your roo? I still haven't found anything other than the possibility of frostbite... I'm so sorry. I doubt that this will kill the roo, if his toes fall off, he'll still be able to walk with a little practice.

I was thinking that the second picture resembled it more closely, especially with the swelling above the black area where the blood flow has not been cut off. Perhaps the roo was brought in for the frostbite in the first place? I'm slightly confused... Regards, Leaf
Only problem with the frostbite diagnosis, which was my first thought as well, is that this roo's been inside all winter, in an apparently warm room. I'm not sure if I misunderstood, but I believe the condition started inside, so frostbite was ruled out. Unless he is in a freezing room or...

I would let it be. If it falls off, it falls off. I wouldn't try to amputate it at home, unless it is obviously becoming a problem for them. Is the chicken vaccinated for Marek's?
