Well, sounds like you should avoid the middle of Washington and Oregon but the west sides will give you forests, even rain forests. And the Eastside will give you prairies and forests. Lots of mountains in Idaho but that’s all I know about that place.

Yes, I feel your pain. I’m getting one or two eggs a day. And there are feathers everywhere.

Yes I have been frustrated also. Mark the threads you want to keep track of as watched. Then you'll be able to find them underneath the Watch threads heading.

Is anybody from Walla Walla out there? It seems that the local animal control lady is running an anti-chicken campaign. According to my neighbors they were told that if there is a complaint about anybody's chickens in the neighborhood the entire neighborhood must get rid of their chickens. I...

Holy cow! What kind of chicken laid that one? The first year or two my SLW this would lay some long big eggs.

I think ducklings are even cuter than chicks.

Cascade had speckled Sussex. And a bunch of people at work really wanted some of those so I don't know if there's even any left now. I got some from there last year, I was surprised they would have them. They are my friendliest chickens so far.

I was good, I was able to walk by the little chicks at Cascade and not buy any. It was hard though.

Mine don't like to walk on the snow either. So they sort of flu from dry patch to dry patch under bushes. But right now there are no dry patches. I think we've gotten over 2 feet of snow so far this year.

Last week when we actually had a couple semi-decent days I let the chickens out of the run for a while and they literally flew around the yard :-) it was adorable.

I am pleasantly surprised how well the plastic on the run has worked. Blocking the wind seems to make all the difference. My chickens have just started laying in the last three days. I've gotten one egg per day :-) from 12 chickens. Not very good but oh well. There are at least two and maybe...

I just realized that I have been occasionally posting on the Eastern Washington North Idaho buy sell trade thread instead of this one. I am very sorry for this mistake. I'm not sure how I ever even got on that other one. Oh well. I will have to remember it again when I'm in the market for some...

It will actually warm up pretty nicely in there if it's sunny tomorrow like they are predicting.

I will definitely be glad when this cold snap breaks. I put some plastic up on the run to block the wind and the chickens are appreciating it I think.

Has anybody tried "natural farm feed"brand in Spokane?

Well, it works for them :-) I was amazed that they said you could order just one of a breed, I figured they'd say you had to order at least five or 10 have a certain breed. But they don't seem to have any trouble selling them. The last two I bought for speckled Sussex and I also got a buff rock...

Hello, you are from Walla Walla! Also. Glad to know there are some other chicken people out there in this town. I looked at your ad and those are some very pretty chickens. I don't know much about any of the breeds but they're pretty if that counts :-) A friend of mine has bantams, I think they...
