Cascade had speckled Sussex. And a bunch of people at work really wanted some of those so I don't know if there's even any left now. I got some from there last year, I was surprised they would have them. They are my friendliest chickens so far.

I was good, I was able to walk by the little chicks at Cascade and not buy any. It was hard though.

Mine don't like to walk on the snow either. So they sort of flu from dry patch to dry patch under bushes. But right now there are no dry patches. I think we've gotten over 2 feet of snow so far this year.

Last week when we actually had a couple semi-decent days I let the chickens out of the run for a while and they literally flew around the yard :-) it was adorable.

It will actually warm up pretty nicely in there if it's sunny tomorrow like they are predicting.

I will definitely be glad when this cold snap breaks. I put some plastic up on the run to block the wind and the chickens are appreciating it I think.
