Just wanted to update and share this email with you from Jim, the maker of the feeders:
From: "james Jurek" <[email protected]>
Hello Cindy,
This is Jim just checking if the feeders are helping with the wasted feed! I saw some of the articles on the backyard chickens site about the feeders. I...
EXCELLENT and thanks for bumping I have quail chicks right now that aren't quite tall enough so I'm using a regular feeder and they waste SO much. Have to fill that twice a day. With the PVC feeder, there's NO waste and I only fill once a day. Can't say enough good things about it and I...
I just measured the feeder:
It is 23 1/2 inches long
3 1/4 inches wide
almost 4 inches tall
I don't use it for my jumbo quail chicks until they are 3 weeks old. By then they are tall enough to reach. It won't work for buttons.
Being that it's made from PVC, I'm sure James could make some...

Yes, there are circles of wood used to close the ends, then little wooden feet. It is nailed on with tiny nails. When I get home from work tonight I will update with the measurements for you.
Filling it isn't as hard as it sounds. I was used to the red ones with the tops that flip up, so you just dump it in. Unfortunately the birds just dump it out! I fill it now with a Chinese food soup container that smooshes to a good pour spout. I think you could use it for chickens; don't...
That's a very good question. I had a little trouble getting used to it and was trying to fill it over the bag of feed. I kept spilling so I tried using a funnel. The next three he made for me, he cut the holes a little wider and it made it easier. I keep my feed in a large metal garbage can...
I did give him the link and he said he's checked the site out. He also sells quail eggs and last fall I bought jumbo coturnix from him too. Was very pleased. He's a "good egg" and definitely BYC-worthy!!!
He said he'll have another feeder on ebay next week; he's working on an order for 6...
I think I paid about $8 plus shipping. He doesn't have any up for auction now, and I can't figure out a way to post the auction that I won. If you go on ebay and look at his feedback, you can look at the items that way.
They do hold alot of feed and are a good size.
I was using those normal long, red feeders but got so disgusted with the waste. I was going through 50 lbs of feed a week and most of it ended up in the tray under the wire. I searched on e-bay and ordered one feeder. I love it so much that I just got 3 more! There is literally no wasted...
