the pine tar only works on a small area. They'll probably just pick at her where the pine tar isn't. I wouldn't use it all over the bird as it's sticky and doesn't wear off well. I guess you could try to put it only where they're picking, but I still wouldn't leave her alone with them.

I have used Pine Tar to stop them from picking a wound (it tastes bad) but in your case, you'd have to put all over her. I don't know about re-introducing chickens that have been away for a while, but Ive read that it's good to separate, but at the same time, let the others see her all day...
