Hmm, ok, if that's the case, then I would suggest adding an extension onto this run. You will not regret giving them more space. They will be cleaner and much happier. Less feather plucking, less fighting, fewer diseases/mites, and more eggs!

I agree that they should be free ranging, but if you make this run vertically dynamic (platforms, roosts, toys), then they may get out of each other's way. After the look-dont-touch period.
