I ordered two black velvet gooseberry (Red ones) plant earlier during the winter and they shipped this spring, they are establishing well, I have never eaten gooseberry or had their jelly but had read on them and hoping when they start to bear fruits I will like them.
It has been raining on and off here but I did manage to go weed around the wild berries at least I weeded well around 3 plants, I plan on weeding around the more established bushes slowly. The ground being wet makes it easier then I will spread the cow manure and straw once cleared.
