    Odd colored d'uccle

I always like to believe in mutations causing awesomeness. Everyone kept telling me I couldn't have a dun gene, but it got into my gene pool somehow. The same with my paint gene. Someone keeps throwing these cool little chicks with black spots on their white chick down, but I couldn't be sure...

I love the silver one. Not sure where they got their coloring (the black and the white chicks) so you may have some mjutations going on, or somebody else snuck into the henhouse!

Sometimes the initial feathers come in silver with black. I, too, got excited, but then the rest of the feathers came in normal. But you never know, so keep an eye on them!

My first little serama hatched. He was from parents whose colors I couldn't put my finger on, so here's hoping there's some dilute genes in the chick. The chick is PaulaFred until I know what sex it is, then it will get a cool name. I tried to take pictures, but the little bugger is fast. I was...

Silver or Lemon Spangled Hamburgs. That's what I have in the bator right now. Looks like only two are fertile, or at least viable. Two is better than nothing. girls. My new boys are friendly towards each other, which is nice. They were in my aviary with a bunch of my girls. There was a little...

You can do it either way, as the cream gene isn't sex-linj\led. The reason I do roos is that I can get more bang for the buck. Get a coopful of hens and let them do their thing, you get a bunch of fertilized eggs a week later. One hen, 1 egg every two days or so. Ten hens, ten eggs every two...

I know that between all of us, this can make our project go much faster. Of course, it would help if we all had about twenty SQ d'uccle hens that are actually LAYING right now...My silly girls, I'm hatching nothing but roosters. At least I have the room to hold on to them to pick and choose the...

We are working together to bring the lemon/citron mille fleur to America. It will take time, effort and tons of money. Our other project is to bring the chocolate gene into the d'uccles. We like to breed d'uccles because we love them, and also because we know when we mate them, exactly what we...

Breed her to your reg millie. I believe that she does have the silver gene, which would make her offspring the elusive lemon/citron d'uccles we've all been trying to get here in the states. Congratulations! Take VERY good care of her.
