You could contact the lady and ask her maybe? Idk if she would have any idea though. He's either extremely runty or dwarfed. Sounds like he has an amazing new family though. I'm sure he's in wonderful hands! Let me know what happens. Hopefully he catches up. He is SO tiny compared to his buddy.
Ok. It's something that just kind of happens randomly. It can be caused by genetics too. Mine is fully grown and healthy, and living in the next state over with his siblings.
Searching "dwarf duckling" will bring up some similar results. Fingers crossed your little guy does ok! Keep me posted...
Wow. I'm going to go out in a limb here and say that's a dwarf duckling. I had one a few years ago and he had a weird head shape exactly like that. The forehead is like super flat. He may catch up in time, or he may not. Do you have any other ducklings hatching?
I had to assist my dwarf...
The scab will heal over and fall off 👍
There won't be a hole, probably just a pink area.
Sorry I missed it somehow 😂
He sounds like he's going to do great. I will add, that if he's smaller he may be a different mix which would mean he's just genetically going to be smaller. He could be all...
The site was down for me too! Idk what was wrong. The band aid thing works great for me. Taping feet is what I have had bad luck with. This.
If the other one isn't liking him he may know there's something internally wrong. Hopefully there's not, but just be prepared that he might just not be...
That wouldn't really help in this situation, but as long as it's off now I doubt any harm was done. I wouldn't tape them, give him at least 48 hours as a chance to straighten them on his own. I have had really bad luck any time I taped bird feet. They always died. No idea why, I tried different...
Aw, poor baby! Can you post some more pics of the leg when you get a chance? Was it that way when he hatched? And what do you have for brooder bedding? I'm wondering if he slipped a tendon. I hope he makes it.
I think it'll heal up ok. Can you get a full body pic? Sorry, lol. Just trying to get an idea of what it's like. Do you have any nutridrench or poultry electrolytes you can give him for a little pick-me-up? If he seems active that's great though.
