If the chick already has cocci, then (from what I understand, so I may be wrong) giving the medicated feed won't help at this point. You will have to give some sort of medication to the chick (by hand if he/she isn't eating/drinking) in order to treat the cocci. I agree with BarkerChicken on...

Purina makes a chick starter that is medicated to prevent cocci...you might want to get some of that. Plus I think layer feed has too much calcium for chicks...but don't quote me on that. I hope you can save your chick...bring her inside and get her warm and follow the experts on the treatment!
