It's still pretty early in the season to tell, but so far we're at about where we were last year with new members per day. I'm really hoping we see a lot more interest this year... especially with the egg-shortages and also there tends to be a correlation to people's perception of the economy...

@azurbanclucker hit the nail on the head, and clearly knows their stuff :) "bots" in our case = Internet crawlers / spiders. Like most bugs, some are "good" and some are "bad", but fortunately, none of them are logged-in ;) Good Bots: Google and other search engines that find great public...

That's such a great story! I love reading / hearing them!!! I wonder how many peeps skip the "introduction" phase and jump right-in... solely with the intent to avoid the "Hey, look at me, I'm new!!!" situation?

Sorry, can you point out where I said being a "lurker" is a bad thing? Then I can alter my post. "lurkers" is a very established online forum / discussion-community term that refers to people who browse but don't join. That's not a "bad thing"... it's just A thing. :) Imagine someone comes...

We're gonna test-out the word "Join" and see if that helps. Maybe even "Sign Up" or "Create Account" or similar?
