Yup, we get about 10-20 POW submissions per week. If you do the math, that makes the list really long and a really long time before someone's pic is posted as the POW. Instead of making it so you have to wait 10 years before your pic is posted here's what we do: 1) We first filter out pics...

Right now we only take them through email, so maybe you can have someone send it in for you? Also, you can send in a couple... maybe 4 max.

Since the POW is the picture that new visitors see right when they visit BYC and the forum we want to make sure we don't confuse them with pictures other than of chickens.

Unfortunately no. Only email and only to the support email address. When there were only 2-3 submissions a week it wasn't a problem, but now that we get way more... we've needed to have a better streamlined process.

All the info is in the first post. You'll email us the picture. It can be any size, but bigger is usually better.

Yup, email the pic to that address with your username and info about the chicken pictured and it will be entered into our long list of submissions.

Since we use them on the homepage of the site we prefer that they be chickens (to avoid confusion from first time visitors to the site).

The system automatically resizes them, so go ahead and send them around 640 ish.

Yes, that's where to send them! Make sure to include your username, info about the chicken, and a good resolution image.

I think you'll get arrested in most states except WA and HI if you submit anything other than a chicken. We'd like to accommodate ducks, geese, etc. but we already get about 30 chickens submissions a week, so unfortunately can't accept anything other than chickens.

We get about 15 - 20 submissions per week, so you can imagine that we're a bit backlogged (i.e., using submissions from July). The more POW submissions we receive the more picky we unfortunately have to be. If you submission was sent in before July then you should assume we decided not to...

Good question! We're sticking with chickens for the POWs.

Unfortunately we're not that organized. We go through them (and we get a lot) and try to pick the most clean and best pictures while trying to give everyone a chance to get their pic in. I think we'll need to do a pic of the day pretty soon!
