    I agree with that, I think that effect has already set in. We never meant to have a rooster, we just happened to find this one in a nearby park so we mainly keep him for sentimental reasons. He’s sweet but definitely not a good head rooster.

    We don’t have a run, just a large-ish fenced backyard that they free range in. We have plenty of bushes but none of them are evergreen so they’re not much help during the hawk migration months. I think a pallet on blocks is definitely the most practical option.

    We have a little bantam rooster who sounds the alarm over literally every bird that flies overhead, regardless of size 🙄. I didn’t know that about Ameraucanas! That’s super interesting.
