All 14 Bresse that went into lockdown hatched. This is last one. First one was a day early and this guy is a day and half late. No assistance on any of them.
The egg to the right is one of mine and it probably won’t hatch. He has till the other fluffs up tonight
I find I have the same experience if the helped ones do live it’s usually not very long before they have trouble. So I let them do it on their own now.
First to pip and first out. The one with question mark is one I left in at 7 day check. It has a pip as well, as does one of my Cornish eggs.
I know the lid is to be on but I was getting the egg carton in, in place of the hatching tray before the rest get started. Could be a noisy night.
Yes it keeps the later hatching chicks from being used as bowling pins. I put them in a new egg carton with the bottoms cut out of carton for air flow. Usually lockdown in my styrofoam incubator rather than the Brinsea.
None of these count for the Easter HAL as I set late.
Of the 18 shipped Bresse 14 are still going. 2 duds and 2 quitters. The outside box was pretty messed up but eggs weren’t cracked.
My birds eggs 5 of 6 doing well. Replaced the duds with more of mine which will make for a staggered hatch...
