I think they do imprint on their human 'moms'......

I know the 4 I hatched out were way more confident and friendly with me than the 5 I picked up a couple days later from Cackle. All are healthy but they just like me better.

This was my craziest hatch ever! Due Sunday but started hatching Friday and Saturday. Then we had the electrical problem Saturday night and temperature dropped. Had some hatch Sunday. I declared the hatch Sunday evening, but left the eggs in the hatching tray...three more hatched today.

I have had odd hatches from shipped eggs before

Unfortunately none of my duck eggs hatched. Had one chicken zip and quit. The worst for hatching was the leghorn and blue eggs (again). I gave 8 to my broody last night and she was happily cooing to them. I think I might give her a surprise late hatcher from this morning. It has an unexpected pattern based on its egg color.

Final count is 27
