Spoiled little velociraptors

I went out to check on the young broody yesterday and she was talking to her babies, so I knew they were hatching.

This morning I took out two of the chicks that hatched overnight in the incubator. The third is still recovering. Two to go.

Tonight I'll move her into another box, one that the chicks should be able to navigate.

First chance to see what kind of Mom she is. She's just over a year old.

Mine are foodies. They are 8 weeks on Sunday. They have tried small bits of watermelon, cantaloupe, black fly larvae, zucchini, cucumber and fresh mint, thyme, basil, sage, mint,marigolds! They go crazy for it all! I did hear bantam Cochins are extremely food motivated… but, WOW! This definitely appears to be true.

cochins are always up for some good food they are also pretty lazy
