    My girls are finally molting!!! They have looked absolutely terrible due to sun bleaching and drake damage and they are going to be beautiful once again! The light feathers are the old, and the dark feathers are the new ones growing in.

    I will NEVER brood ducklings in my house again. I brooded my 2 (only 2) KCs in a spare bedroom and my whole house stank. The last ones were brooded out in the coop and it was WAY better.

    In general I’d say all of my ducks are more consistent layers than any of my chickens (all LF layers).

    Yes. They are about the same size as my chicken eggs. :hmm My other ducks lay eggs that are significantly larger than my chickens. It’s no longer a case of them being young as this is their second year laying. The eggs are somewhat bigger than they used to be, but not that big.

    I do not use mineral oil personally, however my duck eggs often end up as dirty as yours, especially when it rains. When eggs are this dirty I wash them in hot water.     Yes! I have two KC hens that are about a year and a half old now I think. Abby and Gabby. They were my first ducklings as I acquired my original ducks as adults.
