Sadly no :( Bator. But I am definitely trying the boob thing again. Just need to get to where I'm not working so much because how things are right now I'd scramble or crush an egg!
Fingers crossed! Hey...you could always slip another one in there, in case #1 doesn't hatch haha.
Today is day 20 for the button and coturnix quail eggs...Would you still hold out any hope of any hatching at this point or should I just open and toss to avoid getting an egg bomb? Seeing as...
They're 2 days past due :( no sign of a pip. I actually gave up for this batch and put them in the incubator since a few air cells were saddled, but since putting them in the bator movement got less and less :( I'm not sure how much longer to wait, just in case?
I tried to avoid the beak, just to wet the parts where the membrane was white and stiff...but...idk now :( I do have coconut oil so with the quail that's what I'll use if I need to. And ONLY far from the beak.
I wet my clean finger once or twice and placed a drop on the membrane because it was getting white and stiff. It definitely wasn't a lot of water though like barely a touch of it to soften up. Oh God...did I drown her? :hit:hit:hit:hit:hit
Is there something I could have done? I tried to remove the membrane from the nostrils when I noticed baby seemingly gasping for air but it didn't do any good :( (she didn't bleed at all)
I do not want this to happen to my quail as well...
Baby's head and neck look and feel really swollen, squishy and soft... Her stomach looks normal but also feels incredibly squishy. The yolk was close to fully absorbed as was the blood.
She didn't make it 😭💔 after opening and closing her beak slowly a couple times she just stopped moving or responding at all. I pulled the membrane gently away from her nostrils and they seemed full of clear viscous liquid 💔💔 looked like egg whites. I tried to towel some of it away but it was too...
