Baby's beak is poking out of the hole and still no peeping but she opens and closes it occasionally. Is she okay?

OK, I'll bite. From what you discrbe it looks like a classic pip. You should be able to hear a cheep at this stage I can't believe I'm saying this, but it should zip soon. Don't forget you need a brooder for the first six weeks. Maybe your arm pit!

If she is opening and closing her mouth, then she is still absorbing the yolk. Stay patient! Hurry up little Matiti! lol

She didn't make it after opening and closing her beak slowly a couple times she just stopped moving or responding at all. I pulled the membrane gently away from her nostrils and they seemed full of clear viscous liquid looked like egg whites. I tried to towel some of it away but it was too late

Hope you let you're silkies do the job next time. They probably are better broodies than you're boobies. Read about natural breeding, collect 7-9 eggs and wait until one gets broody.

Baby's head and neck look and feel really swollen, squishy and soft... Her stomach looks normal but also feels incredibly squishy. The yolk was close to fully absorbed as was the blood.

I have a broody hen sitting on a few eggs right now... So at least I'll have some chicks. And I'm holding out hope for the quail still....
