Thanks it's going to be interesting. It seems two of the welsummers inherited the feather footed genes from their maran dad. I will be interested to see what their eggs will be like come spring :).

Good morning, Two are out and about this morning. One of each :). The welsummer is on a rampage and just cheeping/hopping around lol. All the eggs have pipped as of this morning, so I think with the peeps going on we will have more to come in a few hours. Any suggestions on how long to keep them...

Cool just making sure I'm not doing anything wrong lol. #worriedchickdad. The humidity is sticking around 70-73%. Temp is running a little lower at 98.9, so maybe that's what's making them a little slow to come out of their shells :). I'll try to be patient lol. Thanks for all the help!

So three still total pipped. No real zipping has occured since this morning, and it's been 6-7 hours since the initial one. When should I be worried I'm guessing be moreso worried tomorrow then today since they just started this mid morning/afternoon.

Three pips so far this afternoon. One Marans/Two Welsummers. Question - I know the external pips are good to see. How quickly does the zipping occur? I know people say it can take 24 hours, but want to make sure I'm doing everything right of course. Any advice other than just watch lol.

No pips as of this afternoon. Will keep updated up till I hopefully get some pips in the next day or so.

No broken eggs. Just all of them got a bit damp. So no worries should be good hopefully will see some pips in the next 2 days :). I kinda want to be awake while they pip to see the magic :).

Update : Cat decided to knock the incubator this afternoon, and got the paper towel I had under the eggs got drenched. Didn't want to open it as it just went into lockdown but decided to grab the soaked towel and place a dry one. Hoping this doesn't ruin the batch. Lesson learned don't trust...

Good luck! Marans are some of the best little chickens. My rooster is a pretty good dad overall. A little aggressive, but he's under a year of age so hoping next year will chill out a bit.

Eggs are in lockdown today, and humidity has been jumped up for the next three days :). Hoping for some pips, and well wishes the next few days.

Tried candling more so, but the eggs being darker can't really tell if they are still developing but there is still some hope. They go into lockdown this weekend so we will see if they start pipping by the beginning of next week :).

Yes all are somewhat viable so far. We are 11-12 days out now till hatch day. I'm surprised as this is my first time hatching. I can post some more pics as development happens, but it's tough with the darker egg shells to get everything in the correct lighting for the camera. But hoping that...
