Quote: You're welcome! Their combs are actually darkening a little bit.

My NEW Light Sussex (with Pics!)

Quote: Nope, they are active, eating like champs, drinking lots (I'm still using electrolytes). Their poop looks normal. No mites or lice.

I e-mailed Paul the pictures and he thinks they are just stressed from the trip. However--they arrived Friday afternoon. It's now Tuesday evening....and they look the same. Any ideas?

Yeah--they were cold, hungry and VERY thirsty when they got here--I'm sure it's a BIG change from Florida to North/Central Washington! LOL I've been giving them electrolytes and as much feed as they can eat...so far they are still pretty pale.

Yeah, I'm hoping that's what it was...they are eating/drinking like little piglets! I even gave them an Asian pear which was gone in minutes...but they show no interest in the wheat I sprinkled in their pen. They've been going through 2-3 FULL feeders of starter per day.

Thank you! I've always admired Paul's bird! I was sooo happy when I finally got them home & unloaded--and yes, so were they! LOL Hubby wasn't mad (SURPRISINGLY!) Although he kind of shrugged & said, "They look just like Light Brahmas to me."

I'll (hopefully) have eggs next spring. I have a feeling these guys will be HUGE! LOL

My NEW Light Sussex (with Pics!)

Here are my newest additions--two pairs of Light Sussex from Greenfire Farms! They had a slightly rough trip 2 days from FL to me) but after some rest, a heat lamp, electrolytes and LOTS of food, they are doing better. One of the little guys has an attitude problem but hubby pointed out he may...
