    Does anyone think it would be bad to try to use the 3ft ends I would cut off the 8ft panels overlapped to make another 5 foot length? As long as I made the overlap correctly as a shingle on the slope? that way I could get away with just two of these panels instead of three...

    oh, thanks for the info, thegreatwhite. Because mine is 48 inches wide, I will need three panels if I want any overhang on the sides. Bummer bcuz it is so close where I could get by with one 12 foot cut in half. I should have thought out my design better to make use of the sizing they come in.

    helpful pics, thegreatwhite. thanks for posting those. did you cut that front beam into sections to fit in between the rafters. I am having a hard time understanding how the rafters are supported. It may be my untrained eyes and I don't even know the proper vocabulary to ask the right questions...

Getting the materials home is very hard for me. I just have a small hatchback so hauling roofing material...
