It will be fine to add today's eggs. When it is day 18 and you raise the humidity, the eggs you put in later today will be just fine. I have added eggs up to about 36 hours after putting in the first set, and they hatched out fine, just several hours to a day later.

We had below freezing temps here (in SC no less!) and I took a few eggs that were freezing cold and test incubated them. They hatched yesterday! The hens laid them in about 25 degree temps and we didn't collect eggs until late in the day, so they had been sitting out for hours. My...

And PS: Old timers highly recommend turning the eggs at least 5 times per day or more the first week. Studies have been done and it appears that hatch rate success increaces greatly if during the first week you roll the eggs as much as you can (or as much as you can stand to roll them haha)...

You're welcome! Always glad to help :). You will want to use the little back 'easel' or pop out stand that comes with the thermometer and stand it on the floor of the black plastic tray. I typically put it in the center of the incubator if possible. Then I kind of snake the probe around and...

Hi, On ebay there is a great egg-o-meter. It measures the internal temp of the eggs, but does not have a hygrometer with it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Egg-O-Meter-EGG-Incubator-Hatching-Thermometer-Bird-/271088192998?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item3f1e1d8de6 I use this one-Incutherm plus...

Quote: I tend to agree with that. Without being able to move a little, maybe the eggs get 'shaken egg syndrome' haha. It was crappy when I specifically ordered my Serama eggs from only 3 hours away, I thought I had it all figured out and that maybe I could get some intact Serama eggs if I...

Quote: Hi, I am in SC and get what I would call excellent results from shipped eggs. early on I was reading others experiences with shipped eggs, and it seems the further they are shipped the worse it is. So I typically only order from the nearest surrounding states. It does limit me a bit on...

Haha! I know what you mean! I have three chick brooders full of chicks right now, and the 2 incubators FULL. I can usually find homes for my chickens pretty quickly around here. I just like to get them to the "safe" zone: an age where they aren't as sensitive to dying before I rehome them. Right...

I absolutely agree with rotating several incubations. I can't wait 21 days or more to free up the incubator before starting more lol. Also, even though it is possible to save eggs for incubating about 3 weeks, sometimes fertility can decrease while they are waiting for the incubator to open up.

"Any experience with the MIni, or just the 20? Bad idea or brilliant?" I forgot to add that I only have experience with the eco 20 and none with the mini because I am always hatching way too many at a time lol. I had a styrofoam incubator and it was the incubator from He ll.... I tried using...

It's a GREAT idea! For the type hatches you are describing, it sounds ideal. I hatch so many each setting that it is sometimes difficult to rotate the eggs. I have the automated rocking cradle but prefer rolling them myself. I have seen a few good deals on the Mini on ebay recently. The price...

Love my Brinsea Eco 20 so much...I got another lol. They are both maxed out-filled to the rims right now. Let me just say that I have run my Brinseas non-stop for a couple of months. I have put them to the test literally-they are just as stable and running excellent as when I got them. I have it...

I LOVE my Brinsea eco20! The most I have been able to fit is about 24. I used it to hatch gamebird eggs. I have the rods in now with the automatic turner going and bantam eggs. There are 10 bantam eggs and 8 La Fleche and gamefowl eggs. Pretty sure I can fit in more eggs if I don't use the...
