    Keep in mind that your black barred rooster (Expresso) won’t be able to have white barred offspring unless he’s bred to a white hen.

    Ah, I was wrong. He’s buff laced (gold laced with dominant white). He is probably a wyandotte mix, but it’s also possible that he’s a purebred buff laced wyandotte since he has such uniform lacing.

    Columbian is made with silver, not dominant white, so it wouldn’t work. Depends on the genetics of the whiting true blues.

    I know a lot of what you’re telling me- I just don’t really think about the actual genetic code most of the time. For instance, I know that chocolate is a sex-linked recessive gene, but I’m not entirely sure how to write out its genetic nomenclature.

    Sorry, I’m confused, I thought all this time that dominant white replaced extended black, I didn’t know they could coexist in homozygous form. :hmm I guess that’s what I get for not learning the nomenclature.

    What breeds are his possible parents? I’m wondering if some of his off white coloring is caused by very faint red leakage.
