Currently I have 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Black Australorps, 1 Barred Rock, and 2 Easter Eggers. I thought about Olive Eggers too but one of my EEs actually lays an olive colored egg!! :D...

Like him with the Marans making the speckles I mean but I guess not if the mother lays them too. And that is awesome!! He seems like a great rooster. Is he friendly with you too?

Oh maybe the combo produced the speckles then. Is your brahma friendly? That’s another breed I thought about but they’re so big I thought they’d eat a lot.

Nice! I didn’t think Marans laid speckled eggs. I thought all Marans laid really dark chocolate ones. But maybe not. I know Welsummers lau speckled eggs too, right? They are known for it and some other breeds may occasionally but I can’t think any that do regularly like the Welsummer.

I wish I had a rooster so I could pass on the good EE’s genes lol but alas, I don’t and they are all too old now. :hit she doesn’t lay the biggest eggs but she is my best layer. And I have Australorps, a Barred Rock, and Orpingtons.

I think she even stopped laying a little before that. The 7 months was when she started molting (August) but she was slacking before then too!!! She didn’t start laying till 3 weeks ago lol if they weren’t pets and she didn’t keep them safe free ranging (flighty and first to alarm) she might be...
