Also- my duck is able to eat! She’s also gotten better at understanding when I have a bowl of water for her. Once she realizes it’s there she’ll go to town drinking it. She’s doing good, it’s the main issue of not being able to see.
so all injured animals are eating and drinking and all doing...
I had carefully gotten the gunk ‘off’ of her eye mostly using Q-tips. Since it was a mucus like liquid I could soak it up with them. I would’ve run water but she wasn’t reacting well to water on her face or neck, as well I was worried I might make make her panic. She was very calm while I...
She has been drinking and most issue is it’s only difficult since she can’t see where the water is, but I’ll be able to show her and she’ll drink plenty. She has no issues swallowing it’s just that she can’t see very well with the swelling and all
Okay I was able to carefully clean out any gunk from her eye so it is open. Any one have any good suggestions for maybe eye drops or ways to help her with swelling?
Also do note that I got a a dropper for the duck since she is able to swallow. Her main issue is due to the blood and swelling it’s difficult for her to see in order to drink or eat. She’s in a very small bath so she can drink since she can feel the water. And she has been happily drinking from...
Her vent is intact, it is mostly above it where most of her tail feathers are. She has been able to use the bathroom. I cleaned her off and removed feathers that were getting in the way. She has also stopped bleeding.
Thanks for the help. We’ll be fixing up their enclosure today and I may move the rest of my flock into my basement at night so no predators can get to them.
I don’t have any on hand but I might be able to pick some up, I at least have syringes to attempt to take care of the duck. Since she’s the only one having issues eating and drinking
I can’t get them to the vet like I’d want to. I am currently keeping an eye on them and they are inside the house to stay warmer as well as be away from the rest of the flock. They’re going to be put into totes later so they can rest on their own and not have to worry about any flies. I’ll do...
I’m also pretty sure it was a raccoon. It killed 4 of my chickens and one of my ducks. Both duck and chicken are resting a lot rn and are inside in order to be watched and comforted
