By the way, the collagen roll is incredibly durable. My pit mix can crack bones in half but she barely made a dent in the collagen after an hour of chewing.
@Chickengirl2671 I just wanted to thank you for making this thread. I hadn't heard of some of these chews before this. I found beef cheek rolls and collagen rolls at a local pet store and gave them to my dogs last night. So far so good!! No one has diarrhea and they finally have something...
I would LOVE to offer raw bones/wings/chicken feet to my dogs, but I am just so afraid of how their stomachs will react. They are on dry kibble so it is not what they are used to. Would it be risky to give them a raw treat now and then?
Cooked bones can be dangerous because they splinter. My previous dogs did love them though. My current dog had uncontrollable diarrhea after only chewing small pieces off of one of those... :idunno😞
No, never heard of them. Thank you! I remember now that I have tried buffalo bones (no meat on them) and Luna crunched them into pieces like it was nothing. 😨 Do the dogs tend to swallow the buffalo ears or cheeks whole or in big pieces like with the pig ears?
I use Nylabones and Kongs stuffed with frozen peanut butter, freeze-dried liver/chicken, and/or frozen moistened kibble. Kongs aren't exactly chew toys, not for my dogs at least. And I can't recommend the Nylabones because they're just eating hard plastic and that really worries me, but...
