    Go in a Search Engine like Google Images, etc, and see the pics of Crevecouer chickens. I don't see feathered legs. A breeder of Crevies would be your best source for answers. It's difficult to find quality purebreeds at feed stores -- I've only had luck ordering/buying from specialty...

    All Crevecouer pics or illustrations do not show feathered legs.

    @exop Don't give up or be discouraged! With the Newcastles rearing its ugly head in the USA for a couple years and then Covid following afterwards there's been a great dent in people's priorities. I myself staved off 3 years of getting any new birds (different breed) from my regular sellers...

    @One Lucky Momma I love all crested chicken breeds -- they all mostly seem like the sweetest docile of breeds -- Polish, Silkies, Crevies, and I assume Sultans, Pavlovskayas and Houdans though I don't know much about those. Enjoy your girls!!!

    @One Lucky Momma Stunning Crevies!

    @CreveChris SUPER! Compared to straight or rose-combed birds all crested and//or bearded birds seem less aggressive which is why I like my Silkies & Breda. I would love to have Polish too but not zoned for a lot of birds!

    At one time I believe Greenfire farms brought some Merlerault to the USA -- but if rare breeds don't capture breeder interest the breeds don't continue in the USA. Such a shame too after all the permits & import costs & overseas trips that Greenfire goes thru to bring rare breeds to this country!

    @Mama_in_the_Dell Wow! He's the spittin' image of a Merlerault! beautiful boy!

    Breaks my heart too! Re-homing birds is not easy on the emotions! I don't care what anyone says -- but in my 9 years of backyard chickens I've found that alike breeds do bond better with each other -- I have two Dominique hens that were babies together and as 3-yr-old adults they're always...

    What a shame! We aren't zoned for roos either! But if one of yours is a cockerel he'll need at least one more Crevie hen or else he'll wear out mating just one Crevie hen. If only roos weren't so noisy crowing there would be a lot more saved in this world!

    Crevies are so rare even a cockerel may be worth keeping :)

    @alexisrambles Don't know what kind of hawks you have in your area but we have Cooper's Hawks. Every Spring fledgling juvenile hawks often sit on our fence or roof or lawn furniture surveying our hens. For 9 years now I've kept pop-up canopies in the chicken yard to purposely clutter-up air...

    Sadly, I never had a Crevie or even a Polish. I looked into getting Crevies but after consulting with a couple USA owners/breeders about 6 yrs ago I got feedback that the USA Crevies were not hardy, or seemed to have too much Polish crosses in them, were independent/self-willed or a bit...

    Really enjoyed your youtube video!!! So glad to see the very lovely Crevecoeur is doing so well in Europe -- sadly they seem a bit less hardy in the USA.

    IMO any one of the three places do not have the time to breed for standard and leave it up to customers to do their own breeding projects -- I got my lovely Dominique chicks from Privett by special ordering them thru my local feed store. Out of 3 Dom chicks I have 2 adult survivor hens and they...

    All opinions welcome as we all have a love for the amazing species called gallus gallus domesticus! We were looking for a gentle smaller breed to mix w/ DH's two docile Silkies since the larger heavier or dual purpose breeds weren't working for us -- when they matured the bigger breeds got too...

    That is good news! As far as size, some people might actually like the size Crevies are now. When I was looking into smaller large fowl breeds the lighter size of the Crevie is what kept me interested.
