Those eggs are lovely! They appear to have nice color saturation, and the speckles on the bottom one look amazing. Congratulations!

She'll be 5 months on August 8th, and she's quite a beauty! I hope you get your first Bonnie egg soon. Please post pictures when you do. :-)

I got my first Silverudd's Blue egg a couple days ago. Interestingly, my friend who owns three of my pullet's hatchmates got her first two SB eggs on the EXACT SAME DAY...one mint green and the other a dark, dark olive green with speckles. Beautiful!!!

LOVE the names and the pictures! I'm glad to hear you finally got a little noise out of your guy. Those first crows are TOO funny!

I'm still waiting on eggs, so I don't have any to show you, unfortunately, but to answer your other question, I think ALL the colors look amazing. Overall, black is my favorite so far (I don't have any splash birds...yet). I love the green, blue, and purple tones that just pop when the sunlight...

Yes to both questions: I was referring to your cockerel, and this breed should always have single combs (though I've heard of 2nd import birds with pea combs, which are considered undesirable).

Wow, he is beautiful!!! I can see that he already has some nice colors on his hackles and wings, and he's going to grow even MORE colorful with age. I truly cannot think of too many sights more awe-inspiring than an elegant black SB cockerel strutting in the sun.

I have two blues and two blacks, and only the blacks have the green you mentioned. Without question, the blacks are the most colorful of the group with metallic green, blue, purple, silver, plus some gold on the cockerel. One of the blues is light blue with silver, and the other is dark blue...

Wow!!! I'm really impressed by the seemingly endless shades of green these SB girls lay.

They really do look amazing, don't they? If only pictures could capture their full beauty... Okay, now it's just plain torturous to read your description without seeing an updated picture of your adorable little guy. ;-)

Well, I sure wouldn't mind getting an "oops" Svart Höna! :-) That's next on my must-have list...

I have a 4-month-old black pullet, and within the last couple days, I noticed her teeny-tiny black comb and wattles are just now beginning to grow and turn pink. If the brother is already "pinking up," you either have a slow-developing cockerel on your hands or a pullet with an exceptionally...

Think nothing of it! Upper Sandusky is quite small. Many people, including Ohioans, have never heard of it. I've got some fencing due to arrive today. I can't wait to separate these rascals and give the little girls a much-deserved break.

Thank you. Jack and his brothers, along with the bantam boys, are acting like a bunch of hormonal teenagers right now and will be separated into their own living quarters this evening. Wondering when I can reasonably expect them to start settling down a bit? As far as I know, Cedar Point still...
