Pictures say a thousand words except when they don't; correcting problems is always more time consuming that doing it in the first place.
Looks to me like you have made very good progress, the roof joists should go on quickly, as long as the "go juice" remains.
Things are starting to open up here but slowly. When I looked a short time ago I could get curbside pickup at least, that may progress in the next weeks.
@aart I had seen your basket before and know that I need to get one. I just looked to see if we have a BB&B in Ottawa, there is I will pick one up next time I am there.
Thanks for the reminder.
When I saw it (originally and with this last "innovation') my thought was the "perfect poop platform"!
I clean mine every day but I have little bits of waste left behind so it is not nearly was white as JT's let alone having those cool parallel lines. I try JT but still have a long way to go...
I am trying to visualize this.
I take it your brooder will be a box or some enclosure that will go on/off the existing drop board as needed? And that it would incorporate the roost bar inside so the chicks can use it while still in the brooder? If yes I am still confused: I thought you were...
I am looking forward to your brooder build.
I copied @aart 's frame design to close off the area under my drop boards but did a quick and dirty. Then I moved the drop boards up so it is too small. I will do another, use the space under the drop boards but this time do a careful build so it is...
Cuba in January, wow!! And then I read your qualifier...
I had never seen "poka-yoke" before, had to look it up. Great word and even better concept, I am guessing you have a few installed in your chicken keeping set-up?
Warming the BJ57 and possibly the room will work. Get yourself the long metal paint stir gizomo and use a drill to mix it well. Once that is done, get a paint roller and a pole, stick it in and have at it. It rolls out easily, use a rough brush to do the edges as you progress. It dries quickly...
BJ57 has worked very well for me, seals everything up so it is waterproof; price is right. I would think impossible to put on in cold temperatures. My sister applied it using a roller on a pole and a big cheap brush for the corners.
