    What is a sapphire gem?

She looks like a girl. My one had a huge comb. I wouldn’t worry too much. Yours definitely looks like a girl to me!

    What is a sapphire gem?

She’s a pullet, but I think she is a little older than the others and that’s why she’s maturing faster. Here’s an updated picture of her.

    What is a sapphire gem?

That is truly fascinating! Yes, please document and share next time. I’m interested to find out too! I think I have decided that my questionable one is indeed a pullet. She just seems to be about a week or so older than the others, which is what is throwing me off on how fast she is...

    What is a sapphire gem?

I got a couple of pictures that are a little better of the one I’m not sure is a pullet or a cockerel. I realize it is still too early to tell, but can you just tell me if there’s a chance it is a hen? Lol

    What is a sapphire gem?

At about what age will I know for sure what this one is? The legs are definitely thicker than my other SG, and she is the only one who will bow when I show up at the brooder. Not sure if that is actual chicken body language or if she knows where the food comes from lol.

    What is a sapphire gem?

That looks just mine except she has white on her wings and her beak is all yellow. I guess I will just have to wait and see what she looks like in another month or two. She is definitely growing faster than any of my other chicks.

    What is a sapphire gem?

How does the gold ring on a string work? Do you put it above them and see which direction it swings? I have two SGs that are 3 weeks old, and I have that is growing MUCH faster than the other. The comb is also HUGE compared to the rest! I’m curious to try the test for fun!

    What is a sapphire gem?

Hello all! I am new to chickens, and I have 2 sapphires. They are both growing so much faster than my others (2 EEs, 2 Golden comets). Has anyone figured out how the sexing works yet? I have one that is darker than the other. They are supposed to all be pullets. I’m thinking that the one I’ve...
