Well we have 15 so far. I never candled them all or culled early. A couple of the remaining ones looked non-fertylized as in no developement. We will see on the others. Anyway the incubator itself has been excellent. A decent hatch of barnyard mixes.

12 healthy chicks and counting...

Well surprise! We had 10 of the 23 hatch yesterday and last night. Today is day 21. We have had one more hatch this morning. I can see a couple more pips working. I am pretty pleased with this incubator so far.

A little update... This thing has been great so far. All of the eggs I have candled seem to have developed well. It has been really consistent on temp the whole time. The egg turner works great. If the hatch goes well Wednesday and Thursday then I am gonna say this is a pretty good unit for...

We have nine days left. My last hatch we had 2 out of 3 blue eggs hatch out.

I am not sure which chicken it is from. Its from a community nest. I love speckled eggs though.

Oh I forgot to mention one of the main reasons I bought it to try. It is dual power and can run on 12 volt DC. After the rolling power outages I thought it would be nice to have a temporary power option.
