Now that's a surprise. It seems she wouldn't have been behaving as pertly if the egg was still blocking the oviduct. You might take that as a strength when deciding on a course of action. She is obviously a strong little girl.

@BelovedBirds is spot on. I can't add more to that thorough explanation. We can't really know how long your hen has, but the odds are likely against her having a normal life. Two things can be done to try to prolong her life, and they are very extreme. One is a hormone implant that prevents...

    Squishy crop, strange poop

@Iluveggers is spot on. Bright yellow slime in poop from a hen is a flashing warning that a reproductive issue is brewing. Taking that warning seriously and acting on it immediately with calcium and an antibiotic can save a hen's life as well as her laying career. But, with internal laying...

Again, we can't know for certain what is happening, only that she appears to be over this crisis for whatever reason. Her behavior tells us this. She could live more or less a normal life for several more months or she could die when this happens again. And it most likely will. Her perky state...

Yes, an x-ray would show if the egg has left the oviduct. Notice on the diagram the shell gland at the very bottom of the oviduct. The egg ends up there last and that is where the shell gets built. Your hen's stuck egg never got down that far. Eggs that do make it that far don't bounce back out...

    Squishy crop, strange poop

This current theory of mine, and it's just an educated guess, fits with the x-ray of the yolk in the upper oviduct. When an oviduct is malformed, and science literature points to this problem occurring more frequently in poultry than in the past, the egg can't travel normally down the oviduct...

    Squishy crop, strange poop

Here's what may have happened since her behavior is definitely not that of a hen with an obstruction in her oviduct. A yolk that enters the oviduct at ovulation can become lodged, not moving, remaining at the top of the oviduct and gathering layers of albumin (white). That was where she was when...

That's disappointing to say the least. What is her behavior like? Any signs of exhaustion?

Her posture is very encouraging. A hen that is in as much trouble as she is would be looking pretty droopy and ragged by this time. But continue the calcium as you have and encourage her to drink her water to stay hydrated. Hopefully, you will make an announcement in the morning about an egg...

That she is walking around and not collapsed in exhaustion is a miracle. Let her eat whatever she wants to keep her energy up. Starvation is one of the biggest risks when there' an egg blockage because it can affect appetite and pooping. Keep up with the calcium. That's the most important...

She just needs to be kept from stress and being around flock activity could stress her. You can walk her around like they do a human in labor who is struggling getting the "obstruction" out.

We just wait. It's all up to her. You've done all you can, and a vet couldn't do much more for her than they already have. She's very young so she's strong, but her body is not quite mature yet, and if this egg is jumbo size, she is going to have a life or death struggle.

No, dipping her into warm water will just cause stress. It's important to reduce her stress, not create it. She needs sugar to boost her glucose. You can add electrolytes if you wish. These will prevent her from going into shock from this ordeal. Probiotics merely increase the microbes in the...

It needs to be at least 550mg. More is better. It can work in an hour or it can take 24 hours. Rarely longer than 24 hours, but a second tablet will be necessary if it goes into a second day. Be sure she's drinking water. Put a little sugar in it to elevate her glucose. This will help her not...

Yes, I have dealt with lots and lots of cases similar to your pullet. Calcium citrate has worked in most cases. No guarantees, but I think it's worth trying. And no, most vets do not do this. But it works to help a hen get an egg out that's stuck in the oviduct.

You can go bring her home and treat her with calcium citrate with vitamin D. It can't hurt, and it may help her get this egg out. You can buy it at Walmart, one tablet directly into her beak. Another tomorrow. There's nothing to lose by trying. She has the possibility of a long life if it works.
