Very nice breeds! I have ordered some Lemon/Lemon Cuckoo Orpington eggs for March. My first try at hatching shipped eggs.

Silkie, Jersey Giant, Chantecler, Cuckoo Maran and some odds and ends. Guineas Cayuga, Pekin, Blue Swedish and Muscovy ducks. A pair of American Fantail pigeons and 6 Homing pigeons. What breeds do you have?

I have used kijiji in MB and have had good luck. There may be facebook poultry sites that are based in your province. I know there is 1 for MB.

I think we just happened to get lucky this time. Woodticks are really bad here right now though. Guineas are supposed to be eating them but they are still bad.

That's ok. You can keep the caterpillars. We live 3 miles south of the nearest town. Town was over run with caterpillars but I had none at my farm.

The first of my Sapphire chicks are hatching. 3 hatched so far. Hopefully more coming in the next few days with a big batch to hatch in 2 weeks. This was just a test hatch to check for fertility.

I have guineas and I would think they would eat the caterpillars if they were within reach. I have no tent caterpillars in my yard to test the theory though.

Where are you located?

Fresh eggs are the best! I have no experience with chicks from a hatchery or TSC. I have always bought birds/chicks from an auction sale, kijiji or a breeder. Welcome to BYC.

By any chance are you from Swan River? Just a guess!

She does not have any in Saskatoon. Lives in the city. But she could transport some to you if you dont find anyone closer. Some of my EEs are still pullets so I am not sure what color of eggs they will lay.

I will have EEs in the spring. Live in Mb but have a daughter who lives in Saskatoon.
