    Yup definitely a cockerel. Try giving treats like popcorn. My girls eat it out of my hands. Makes hem easier to pick up and most of em are quite used to me.

    Lol my leghorns were kinda mean too. But they were probably the last of the birds I had at that time to lay. Once they got going, they were the best layers. Do you have a picture of the suspected cockerel? If so we can probably tell you for sure if it is.

    How old are they? Have heard it isn't uncommon for the back sex links to start laying at 18 weeks. I think if anyone had some that may have been borderline that they may have been hindered because of the impending autumn.

    Are they getting 14 hours of light a day? Not always a necessity but I do make sure mine get that light on a timer so that I get my eggs year round.

    Haven't posted here but been following this thread for awhile. Mine just started three days ago. Two of them are laying out of 19. One I know for sure is a barred rock and the other I know for sure is one of the hatchlings. They have both laid two eggs a price now and it took at least 25 weeks...
