I feel bad for my one little chick that hatched... It's lonely! I tried bringing one of the one week olds that my broody hatched but then I just had one confused chick and one screaming loudly for its mama! I'm not giving up hope on my BCM, fingers crossed it hatches today... ugh

Oh gawd! That sounds awful... Can you replace the shell with scotch tape and maybe wrap them in moist paper towel? So sorry... I know how frustrating kids can be when they're "helping" ugh

Brilliant color! Lol so do emu's lay eggs everyday like chickens?Or seasonally? Lol can you imagine the platter you'd get from such an egg? You could feed a whole family!

My mama hen brought her chicks out to explore their run today... With my help of course. She went out and they cried, "Mama! Mama! Mama!" as I have a partition in front of the door so they don't fall out... So I placed them in the run with her and she taught them how to dust bathe and scratch...

So exciting! I can't wait to see what Daryl looks like!
