    @rebrascora Thanks for pointing that out. Tough to tell like you stated. I was looking at the hens left foot just above the toes on the leg...looks swollen to me. The right leg looks normal. Does it look like it's swollen to you?

    Since the effected area is on the side of her crop; she may not be eating enough due to expansion of the crop causing her pain in the red area.

    I suspect your hen could be rubbing her breast on the roost. Observe her at night time when she's asleep and you might be able to see the effected breast area in contact with the roost. As far as the foot swelling and then swelling going down, possibly gout. Gout is due to improper feed. However...
