    Shocked!

That's awesome. I was swimmer then, so I was strong. Problem is that I was a klutz, am a klutz and will always be a klutz. I have a knot a on my head right now from bonking it on the dining room table on the way back up from picking up something I dropped. That knot came right after me running...

Lol - no. I'm what you call uncoordinated. It would have been dragging instead of skiing.

    Shocked!

They've fixed the flooding. I guess they figured that students water skiing in the parking lot might possibly be a liability. I'm very glad I didn't reflexively reach down into the water when I felt the pain.

    Shocked!

My school used to flood when there was a lot of rain. The flooding was so bad that people could literally water ski. There are pics of people doing it in my year book. During one flood, I was walking in water that was well above my waist. I felt a very hard pinch on the side of my foot. It was...

    Shocked!

I've lived in a lot of states, but I was born and raised in Oklahoma. I came back here after my divorce. We do have rattle snakes, cottonmouths and copperheads here, but it's pretty rare for them to be in the Tulsa Metro area where I live. I've never seen one, and I've never heard of someone...

    Shocked!

Nah - it didn't bite me. It wasn't venomous or aggressive. It really just wanted out of the garage, but didn't know the way. I've been bitten by a snake, but luckily I had very thick leather shoes on. I still felt it, though. Despite the fact that the fangs didn't quite reach my skin, the snake...

    Shocked!

My ex was terrified of snakes. When one got into our garage once, I just reached down to pick it up by the tail and take it out. He yelped and just about tackled me to keep me from touching the snake. It wasn't venomous. They've just never bothered me. I'm the same way with spiders. I have a...

I know raccoons can be nightmares when they want to, but poor little thing. I hate to hear when animals suffer. "I just don't live in a snakey place." lololololol

    Shocked!

Last night, a 2nd chick in our flock, Abbey, found a snake that was 6 or 7 inches long. After outrunning the other chicks and spending some time finishing off the snake, Abbey ate the whole thing. It took her a few tries because it was so large, but she's no quitter lol. You're right, though -...

Both your posts on this thread made me laugh so hard. I've had a tough week so far, so thank you for that.

    Shocked!

Your son would probably like my rooster. He's about 2 months and a week or so, so he's about half as big as he will be (though not half as heavy yet). He is so freaking spoiled that the last time I was sitting out in the yard with them while they were running around and eating a plum, he started...

    Shocked!

"The delicious danger noodle"! I love that!!!! Holy crap though! I think you did pretty darn good actually. I love that she backed off. I have a couple who would listen like that....and many who wouldn't.

    Shocked!

We've seen several babies, but we've never once seen an adult. They're all non venomous, though. It's very rare for there to be a dangerous snake in our part of the state.

    Shocked!

Holy crap! When ours were smaller, we put a frog in the run with them just see what they'd do. The chicks gave it a wide berth. They didn't quite know what to do with it. The frog didn't move a muscle for a solid hour until we had mercy on it and let it go.

    Shocked!

I was just surprised that she didn't tear it to pieces - that she just inhaled it whole. We have some mice that live in the grassy area behind our back fence where there's no houses. When the chicks are out running around, the mice will sneak up and try to steal a little feed. If they think the...

    Shocked!

I've seen them get hold of crickets and locust, etc. It's actually quite disturbing. They all surround the chick who found it and all fight to take a piece of the poor creature. Legs and wings everywhere lol

    Shocked!

We call them little raptors all the time. I guess that's closer to the truth than I realized lol

    Shocked!

Two weeks old?!?!?!?! Wow!!!! Luckily, we live in an area where venomous snakes are relatively rare. I would pay a lot of money to see a 2 week old baby go after a snake!

    Shocked!

We have a flock of 12 chickens that are a little over 2 months old. They have a portable playpen, a permanent run and we let them run the whole yard quite often. The other night, the chicks were having a good time running free outside their run. Suddenly, Maggie Mae runs away from the rest of...
