They They can both have chick crumb, no duck crumb :) and I keep mine in seperate brooders and they do much better then when they were together, so I recommend doing that as well :)

You should be fine, just as long as you have lots of space in your brooder and they can get away from the chicks and have their own spot. Having 8 should be fine. :)
