Sorry about that... We, people on the black copper marans threads, were going to do the examples of as many good marans traits as possible BUT the BYC neighboorhood changed. When Nifty went to the current system, it was very hard for many of us on dial up internets to get on BYC and totally...
To add clarification, the birds are Disqualified if they are 20% over or under the SOP goal weights. Before they reach the 20% limit, there are penalities in 1/2 lb increments.

I just thought I would throw in some benchmarks to this....
I weighed my cockerel today and at 18 weeks old he was 5 lbs and 13 ounces.
His sire is 8 3/4 lbs. The standard calls for an 8 lb rooster.
So, the cockerels need to be around 5 1/2 pounds by 18 weeks to meet this goal.
