    Hands on hatching and help

I used to leave chicks/ducklings in the incubator to dry but after this hatch I've just done I don't think I will. I checked on my duckling eggs the other day and one that had hatched had led on the pip and suffocated the other duckling. It was awful!! So he/she is the only one that hatched...

It's day 28 tomorrow. Ok well I've done and lucky it's still alive!! But, I can't see the bill anywhere? Only a drop of blood when I done it. When I peeled the shell off there was no movement from what I could see so when I made a tiny aircell the duckling started moving about like crazy in...

    Hands on hatching and help

I had this incubator as my very first incubator. I put a x on one side and o on the other and tilted them all the same way as it's a small inc. Yeah they get out fine stood up some people prefer that method and leave their turners in turned off during lockdown. I have a separate hatcher as I...

It also helps if you have a bad egg getting it in time. I used to candle everyday I love seeing the development!! Now I only do it once a week to check for clears and dead ones. Oh and if nothing happens in lockdown I check for internal pips!

You roll them. It's easier to have a X on one side and a O on the other so you don't get confused. I had to buy a Turner as I kept forgetting to turn them lol

    Hands on hatching and help

I've also been hatching shipped eggs and for a couple of months I didn't have one hatch. After fiddling around with the humidity and the aircells I decided to try the forget about them method. I basically put them in and forget about them until just before lockdown I will candle and remove the...
