7 of 11 for eggs... might have a s8xk or injured girl went out ton the coop this afternoon. She looks OK comb and color but isn't standing fully. She tries to walk but at a squat. And is staying sitting. Not sure what's going on.

2 weeks is barely enough time to destress, plus if it's winter for you she may still be wintering too. Give her time. Some of mine just came out of wintering this week, and by some I mean 2, and they are 2 of the first years that I didn't expect to winter down... only 2 of 6 first years didn't...

The 4 pullets did great well they were laying, they averaged almost half my eggs a day for 11 chickens for a few weeks. But they seem to be more particular about the weather and such then the other chickens Mine are nice, but I don't try to pet them much. They just don't lay very consistently

So anyone's option here... are EE just a bunch of butt heads? I mean they are good birds and very pretty. But I got 4 this spring (labeled Americana) and the older 2 didn't lay well in the 100+ heathe here in northern California, and none of them are laying now that's it's late fall... I get...

Ugh. Just found mites I think. Not in the coop but on the porch near one of the boards we removed from the coop. They are floating in a slight puddle sort of the way some ants do. Unfortunately all the coop is wood, and 2 of the roosting bars were in there before the coop remodel...

So I've been fighting with 3 hens sleeping in the nesting boxes. 2 of them for a few weeks now. Well... I might have found my issue. We built and open style coop, or mostly open. It has 4 sides and a roof but 3 of the sides have at least 2 ft of ventilation. For the summer that's great but...

Only 2 eggs yesterday . But I guess it's OK since I probably stressed them out a lot moving rock into the coop area, I still have to do the run but I needed to create a heavy base in the coop since it's so dry in there and the chickens have started digging under the walls. It also really worries...

Only 3 eggs today. All tan. So unless by some miracle I have 4 green eggs tomorrow I need to try to figure out which 2 are laying and which 2 are not.

That was a bit disappointing... I got no eggs on Sunday so I was expecting a full load (minus my molters) for today. That should have been 2 bards and 4 EE all first year and possibly 2 mixed tan layers that haven't started thier molt yet. But instead on 2-4 tan eggs and 4 green eggs I got 4...
