Talk of misquoting........ 1) Where did I say I didn't like pits? I do like them. 2) Where were you misquoted? 3) Where did I insult you? 4) Want to own any kind of legal pet, own one. 5) Please, don't insult anyone as we understood the intent of the message w/the picture. To...

Again, I weary of this but you asked. Do me a favor, don't ask me any more questions. 1) Where were you misquoted? 2) Answer the question, what is misunderstood about this breed? 3) I speak from experience of this breed....do you want to dig up the remains of my dog that my neighbor's pit...

OK, I'm done unless asked a specific question. They are beautiful animals, never in question. So what is misunderstood? 1) That they weren't bred for fighting? 2) They don't clamp down when fighting? 3) That they fight different from other dogs? 4) That they are VERY STRONG dogs that have...

mustang, one of the most aggressive, biting dogs is the cocker spaniel but they dont get media attention because they are such a sweet, cute looking dog. I don't agee with this but I do agree that ALL dogs will bite, some worse than others. My only concern is when a cocker bites, it will then...

http://www.onlinelawyersource.com/personal_injury/dog-bite/law.html Many large dogs have the capability of bone snapping jaw pressures of 200 to 450 pounds per square inch, with pit bull jaws exerting triple that pressure. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said their studies show...

Go enjoy your daughter's B'day. we agree on everyone should be responsible for their pet's actions. To equate a kid getting their face scratched with a pit clamping on.................as long as you're responsible. I'll take my chances w/cats. Unless it's a lion cat as I knew a farmer...

    1) the term I used "locking" is the wrong term to be accurate. They are bred to NOT let go, unlike other breeds. 2) Not to argue but I've seen NON-prejudiced reports where their jaw strength is much greater than other breeds. Answer if according to this article, they don't bite any harder...

be knowledgable about raising a dog who will be dominant if not raised properly thank you........altho I bet your definition is different on "raised properly" than the average owner. We use to raise bird dogs and all were trained & loved as house pets. People should own whatever breed they...

Quote: So you don't agree that Pits fight with a different attitude and strength (yes, I read your post about knowing their jaw strength, you know, so legally you are now criminally responsible for all damage)? You don't agree that Pits were bred to kill? Did you read the posts ahead of this...

Know your risks. True scenario. Pit comes into yard, kills dog. this Pit had NEVER shown any tendancy for violence. Now if this dog was a german shephard instead of pit, he beats up the dog but doesn't kill it. That's the difference. Now you want to become scared, your 5 year old...

Most of those breeds you mentioned have a huge difference. Jaw strength and the way they fight (bite). It's people who defend Pits and refuse to recognize the great damage a pit can do is what scares me. I have no problem owning them, know your risks.

Quote: Yes, and if someone has a relative that is that way, they need to deal with them accordingly. Altho it's not legal to put them down like a vicious dog. The deal w/breeds that were bred to protect is that the other breeds, bite, let go, bite, let go, etc, while the pit types clamp...

Quote: Agree with this. I have no problem with any pets, just owners need to know what they are getting into and accept all the responsibility that comes with it. I have no sympathy for them when their pet does what it's bred for and their response is "I didn't know".

Quote: No kidding, totally agree!! Cute dog pics Quadcam!!! While owners have a huge effect on their pets, understand one thing, when certain breeds get mad, they don't fight to win, they fight to kill. I've seen it in action. Consider yourselves warned. Know what you are dealing with...
