Thanks, Nat. Looks like she's been accepted by all and I just need to make sure that she eats and drinks, but the moms make a big fuss to show them what food is.
I think egg #3 is not going to hatch. So I turned off the bator.
I put the little cutie in with her 3 moms and other chick this afternoon. They all didn't really understand at first, cutie was drawn to the moms but it looked like she didn't know why. So I put her under a mom a few times and she was fine. I showed her the water, and she took nice drinks...
Nat, you're such a friend!!!
the chick was "born" at 6 am. When I went to bed last night there was a vein or two still there. I got up a 6 am and the chick had "pipped thru the membrane." So with a little more help (the rest was cemented onto the chick, I used a wet q-tip and help her slide...
Okay, Nat. I put the egg on a really wrung out wash cloth in the bator with high humidity and took a q-tip and wet the membrane.
Now she's wiggling around and peeping, so there's hope! And there's plenty of shell removed so she can expand moreso inside the membrane.
My hen had a chick yesterday. Today, there's a pipped egg-I can see the beak. The hen left the nest with chick, but stayed out quite a while, and the pipped egg sat alone at 90 degrees, and about 55% humidity. It pipped this morning. Should I helP?
