So close! It's so hard when you can hear them peeping and you know they are alive but they just need to make it through that last step.

Come on baby!!!!

Nat, you're such a friend!!!

the chick was "born" at 6 am. When I went to bed last night there was a vein or two still there. I got up a 6 am and the chick had "pipped thru the membrane." So with a little more help (the rest was cemented onto the chick, I used a wet q-tip and help her slide out. Cutie is exhausted, but looks good!
I put the last egg in the bator, guess I'll have to hatch that one too, then sneak it under the moms when it's born. With this one, I'm waiting till the chick can scurry around.

Chicken and Gallus, thanks for following along, you made me feel good knowing you were there for me and the chick!

rah rah!!! I am waiting for pictures...Nothin like good hatch buddies.

I love BYC!!!

I had my first ever hatch this morning - the "mom" (they are not her eggs) has been really good.

When should I take away her first hatched - so she doesn't abandon the nest for the rest to have a chance?

I feel bad putting one chick in the brooder (all alone).
