It actually looks pretty healthy! Mainly I'm concerned about it being someone's dinner. I've seen it fly, though, so maybe it'll be fine. It's so strange, the teals just let it hang out with them.

There is a snowy call duck swimming around with two Teals in the lake by my house. Should I try to catch it or contact either animal control or the DNR or just leave it?

Quick update - Jabba is doing really well! He's been out for a few hours each day while I watch. The ducks, goose, and one chicken now seem to have no problem with him, and the one chicken is being mean still. I'll definitely be keeping a very close eye on him for at least another week and not...

I went to my first poultry-only show a while back. It was really cool. Before that I was in 4-H and also participated in a lot of open shows (but with rabbits). So I've been to a lot of poultry shows and other types of shows.

But I'm still crossing my fingers that someone will have a pretty little girl for me to take home :)

Oh gosh I had no idea... now I'm afraid to ask... what happens to them? If I get any of those colors, will some of them turn out show quality if bred to a white drake? Or will they all end up fake pied, ruddy, diluted, etc? I've heard that bibbed happens a lot when a color is bred to white...

So, does anyone know what colors are considered showable in the U.S.? Can you show crested or pied calls here? What colors can you pair with white if you want to end up with some show quality offspring? I seriously can't find any information anywhere!!! I want to find the perfect hen for him...
