Good question. I am not sure, but his are feather footed and he is very particular about the birds in his breeding stock.

There is a local breeder in my area who has feather footed French Black Copper Marans. I think he might ship hatching eggs, but you will have to wait until his hens start laying again. (It has been so hot lately all his birds (mine also) have stopped laying.)

Oh yes, he is fine. I showed him the picture afterwards and he thought it was funny. I even have a little video of the whole "event," but I don't think we can post videos. Besides this is a photo contest. ;)
